This is how to get two windows running on D2 without using any form of D2Loader or even downloading anything third party. Its based on information found on another forum -- Step One - locate your diablo install on your hard drive go to the D2 folder and relocate it on your hard drive then rename it to , well anything you like that isnt the original name Step two -Uninstall D2 Step three - Reinstall D2 but this time use you second set of cdkeys Step four - patch your new install to 1.11 Step five- make a shortcut on your desktop with the target and start in pointing to the originally installed D2 Step six go to the directory containing original D2 install - delete bncache.dat dont worry it will reappear when you log on to bnet and use a hex editor to open up the file d2gfx.dll Follow this procedure--- I used ultraedit-32 for this 1. open d2gfx.dll from c:\your original D2 install that you renamed and moved in your hexeditor. 2. search for the bytes "C0 74 45". in Ultraedit: press ctrl-f and make sure the "find ASCII" is UNCHECKED. enter "C0 74 45". 3. the cursor will jump to offset 84ceh. Change the byte "74" to "EB" 4. save d2gfx.dll again You should now have two lod shortcuts on your desktop - one pointing to each install - start the shortcut of the install of D2 without the modified d2gfx.dll - log on to bnet join a game Now start the install with the modified d2gfx.dll log on to bnet (with a different charater) and join same game - or another one whatever floats your boat Wait 60 seconds realise bnet hasnt dropped you from game and rejoice.
